Please join us for the first Eugene APWA Luncheon of 2018. It's scheduled for February 13, 2018, at Kowloon Restaurant in Eugene.
In 2015, the Eugene Civic Alliance (ECA) purchased the 10-acre Civic Stadium site. Tragically, the historic old stadium was completely consumed by a massive fire in June of that year. Undeterred, ECA raised money via a combination of private donations, grants, and State funding to build a new sports and recreation complex on the site named Civic Park. The project will rise from the ashes to preserve the legacy of Civic Stadium for future generations. The new facility will provide space for the public to enjoy sports and recreation while also fostering economic development and improving access to gym and field space for kids.
Randy Nishimura, principal with Robertson/Sherwood/Architects, will speak about the Eugene Civic Alliance’s vision and his firm’s design for the proposed project, scheduled to break ground this spring. He’ll describe the challenges posed by the functional brief and the site, and how the design team addressed those challenges.
If you plan on attending, please RSVP by emailing EugeneAPWALuncheon@ci.eugene.or.us no later than February 12.
